In the last decade Finnish education has been in the spotlight due to its results in international evaluations such as the OECD PISA and TIMSS.  There has been particular interest because much of what happens in Finland would seem to go against the grain of initiatives set to raise standards in other countries.

In this free symposium from Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) in Finland you will learn what it is that makes Finnish education different.   We will look at the curriculum, pedagogy and beliefs that underpin the system and the teacher training and professional development opportunities offered.   Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and explore ways that they might take some of these ideas back to their own practice and institutions.

Speakers include

Dr. Carita Prokki – Director of Global Education

Mark Curcher – Program Director, 21st Century Educators

REGISTRATION

All participants will receive a personal certificate of attendance at the symposium.
