Students started in new Degree Programme in Risk Management and Circular Economy

A new Master's Degree Programme in Risk Management and Circular Economy started at TAMK.

The English Master's Degree Programme in Risk Management and Circular Economy aims at developing students' circular economy competence. During the programme students can deepen their competence in circular economy and apply its possibilities in different fields. In addition, the degree programme focuses on identifying and anticipating risks related to circular economy.

The Master's Degree Programme in Risk Management and Circular Economy had plenty of applicants. A total of 15 students were admitted to the group – 8 Finnish and 7 foreign. The foreign students come from all around the world: Ghana, South Africa, Poland, Russia, Iran and Somalia. The admitted students also represent different fields of working life. They work in companies such as UPM, Ramboll, Kone, Valmet, Tampere Regional Solid Waste Management Ltd and Varma.

Students will either complete the degree of Master of Engineering, Master of Business Administration or Master of Natural Resources. Nine of the students are studying for the engineering degree and six for the business administration degree.

The degree programme is mainly organised as web-based studies. The studies include four intensive periods. First of the periods started at TAMK on Wednesday 12 September. The intensive week started under the supervision of Steve Kelley, who works as professor of materials science at North Carolina State University. In addition, students visited for example Hiedanranta. Next intensive week will start at the beginning of December.
