Home country: Bulgaria
What are you currently doing: Assistant Controller for Fennovoima Oy, Helsinki.
How did you find out about TAMK and what made you choose it for your studies?
A friend who was studying engineering at TAMK told me about the programme in International Business. I chose it because the studies were in English and the curriculum sounded interesting. It seemed like I could learn a lot and benefit from the program.
What did you like most about Tampere and Finland?
About Tampere I liked that the city is neither too big, nor too small. Public services in the city are very well-organized. Tampere has enough to offer to nature-lovers and night-life seekers. About Finland I like that things are usually well thought of and run according to established rules and regulations. I like that there is nature all around us even if one lives in a big city.
In what ways have your studies contributed to your professional and personal life?
My studies provided a very good and broad basis for my professional life. Now having started my first job in a business environment, I use daily the knowledge acquired at TAMK in my work and I can see that all the things we studied were preparing us for our future careers. Most of the things we studied at TAMK are very relevant to what I encounter in my work.
How has TAMK supported your needs as a student?
The teachers and the supporting staff at TAMK were very helpful throughout my studies. They have a very good understanding and experience of working with students from various cultures and backgrounds. They make things work in this program. TAMK offers enough flexibility and activities for those who want to make the most of their studies in Tampere.
What would you say to anyone considering studying at TAMK?
Go for it! It might be tough but it's worth it.
