Nursing education attracted applicants in joint application of autumn

A total of 2927 applicants wanted to have a study place at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in the joint application of autumn. The number of study places for the studies beginning in January is 335. Nursing education interested most. As regards master's degree programmes, Service and Project Business was the most popular.

The Degree Programme in Nursing and Health Care, Nursing had 1859 applicants. A total of 80 students are admitted to the full-time studies and 30 to the part-time studies. Ten students are admitted to the retraining and upgrading of the vocational college diploma to the bachelor's degree. The Degree Programme in Social Services also interested. Its 30 study places were pursued by 465 applicants.

Engineering educations which can be completed alongside work had plenty of applicants. The part-time Degree Programme in Construction and Civil Engineering had 376 applicants to its 30 study places. The Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering for the needs of Sastamala and north-western Tampere Region interested 196 applicants. Its number of study places is 25.

Popularity of master's degree programmes increased. The most popular was Service and Project Business, which leads to the degree of Master of Business Administration. It had 144 applicants to its 25 study places. Information Technology, which leads to the degree of Master of Engineering, also interested more than earlier with 78 applicants to 15 study places. The new Master's Degree Programme in Music had 26 applicants to its five study places.

The Finnish higher education institutions had a total of 28 400 applicants. The field of social services, health and sports in universities of applied sciences had most applicants nationally (67 % of all applicants).

All higher education admission results will be published on 26 November at the latest. Admitted applicants have to accept their study place by 9 December at 15.00.
