Latest IoT information at TAMK’s seminar - more than 40 presentations

Internet of Things (IoT) is currently the most visible application field in electronics, computer engineering, telecommunications, and software engineering. Tampere University of Applied Sciences will organise its second IoT seminar on 29-30 March.

Mauri Inha is in charge of the IoT seminar arrangements at TAMK.

– Our first IoT seminar last year was received very well. After it we were requested to organise a new seminar, tells Principal Lecturer Mauri Inha from TAMK's Degree Programme in ICT Engineering.

– In the seminar we will hear examples of new application fields of the near future, such as machine learning and big data analytics.

Augmented reality is already true today and we will hear several presentations on it. Other seminar themes include IoT and traffic, information security, health technology, and business expertise.

The seminar and fair will last for two days this year. There will be more than 40 presentations and 30 exhibitors. The presenters and exhibitors include Finnish and international specialists from the most important field-related enterprises, research institutes, and universities.

– Several new small companies will also have the chance to present their expertise, Inha says.

TAMK's IoT expertise will be presented in the exhibition.

– For example, the Drone and eTruck projects, welding robot IoTs, and the NASA project will be on display. The health technology education will display remote health measurement systems in the exhibition. The Degree Programme in ICT Engineering will present expertise needed in building embedded systems.

About 320 participants from 50 enterprises have already registered for the event.
