This module consists of four courses:

Transportation management, 6 credits, 3B00CX08-3001

After completing the course, students will be able to:

Understand the European Transportation Policies
Calculate all the costs related to the transportation operations
Manage the domestic and global transportation processes based on cases studies
Understand and work with the transportation documents
Calculate the CO2 emissions and define the risks in transport.

Warehouse management, 2 credits, 3B00CX09-3001

After completing the course, students will be able to:

What are the new challenges in supply chain management process?
How to operate in distribution centers, warehouses and terminals?
How to control and optimize inventories?
What is warehouse inventory system?
What is material handling about?
What are the value added services in a distribution center?
What are the picking techniques used?

Emergency Supply Chain Management, 2 credits, 3B00CX10-3001

After completing the course, students will be able to:

Understand the characteristics of a humanitarian supply chain management speed.
Understand Humanitarian and emergency cycle
Analys the Logistics cases from the ground: Red-Cross, DHL, NESA
Understand the coordination and complexity in humanitarian SCM.

Enterprise Resource Planning, 5 credits, 3B00CX11-3001

After completing the course, students will be able to:

Define the business process model and ERP selection criterias.
Describe what enterprise resource planning (ERP) means.
Support ERP project implementations.
Navigate in SAP R/3 and Business One environment.
Work in details with the SAP AIO module (sales and distribution, Material Management,).
Act as a SAP user: Master data, material data.
Plan the first phases in SAP customizing.

 

Prerequisites

These are second year courses for students of International Business so basic knowledge of logistics is required.

Contact teaching group

The educational provision of the open UAS consists of degree programme courses. Contact teaching takes place either in degree student groups which have places reserved for open UAS students or in separate open UAS groups. Contact teaching of these studies is organised in degree student groups.

How to register?

Please register for the course you wish to take using the registration form provided at the top of this page. Submit the form two weeks before the beginning of the course at the latest. After that, you can contact the Open UAS Office (avoinamk@tamk.fi) to ask if there are any free places available.

Registration becomes binding 7 days before the beginning of the course. We will send an invitation to the email address you have given. The invitation will include detailed instructions about starting the studies.

TAMK’s degree students register through the student administration system, Pakki. They will be admitted if there are free places on the course. The studies are free of charge for degree students.

Payment terms

The payment term is 21 days net from the invoice date.

Cancellation terms

Registration becomes binding 7 days before the course begins. The study place has to be cancelled by contacting the Open UAS Office by email (avoinamk(at)tamk.fi). If cancelled later, the whole fee is charged. Please remember to cancel your registration in time if you cannot start the studies. It is never enough simply to inform a teacher that you wish to cancel your registration.
