Studying in media programme is practical and independent
Nelli Norman, Finland
The focus of the programme is on interactive media content design and production. The students learn about current digital media issues and they specialise in visual design, interaction design or project management.
The first two years provide a broad perspective on digital design, production, and business, and skills in the selected specialisation.
The third and fourth years consist of studies abroad, practical training, the bachelor’s thesis and free choice studies.
The areas of application include web design and services, games, mobile media, multimedia, cross media and interactive installations.
Studying in the Media Programme is typically hands-on, project-based, business-oriented, international and most often conducted in co-operation with partner companies.
Collaboration with the Film and Television Programme and the Fine Arts Programme is intense. The Media Programme works in close cooperation also with TAMK International Business and Business Information Systems Degree Programmes and the ProAcademy study programme in entrepreneurship. There are joint courses, and the students can enrich their options by choosing classes offered by the partner programmes.
The Media Programme is located in the old Finlayson cotton mill, right in the heart of the City of Tampere, surrounded by museums, theatres as well as new media, ICT and art companies.
