The focus of the programme is on interactive media content design and production, as of 2013 also music and event production.
The students learn about current media issues exploiting main study paths Interactive Media study path and Music Production study path. These main paths are divided into “sub study paths” (e.g game design, music business) , which will help students in choosing their specialisation. Choosing studies across other study paths is also possible.
The first year provides a broad perspective on digital design, production business, and skills in the selected specialisation. The following three years consist of secondary subject studies, working with customers, studies abroad, practical training, the bachelor’s thesis and free choice studies.
The areas of application include web design and services, game design, visual design and motion graphics, production and content design, music production and music business, song writing, sound design, event production, entrepreneurship and cultural export.
Studying in the Media Programme is typically hands-on, project-based, business-oriented, international and most often conducted in cooperation with partner companies.
The Media Programme is located in the old Finlayson cotton mill, right in the heart of the City of Tampere, surrounded by museums, theatres as well as new media, ICT and art companies.
