Image Survey: Young Finns Rated TAMK as the Most Interesting University of Applied Sciences

Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences shared first place when Finnish young people were asked to rate which university of applied sciences interested them most. This was the result of the tenth image survey to be conducted by Taloustutkimus on youngsters’ images of Finnish universities of applied sciences.
The universities of applied sciences located in Tampere were rated the best in the image survey. Tampere University of Applied Sciences received the second best total score right after the Police College of Finland.
TAMK was also one of the five universities of applied sciences which most often came into the top three when the respondents were asked to compare the institutions on ten separate image factors. TAMK’s results were top of the range regarding the attraction of the location, good reputation, interesting fields of study, appreciation of the degree in the labour market, and the international possibilities offered by TAMK. TAMK was also among the five best-known universities of applied sciences.
Tampere University of Applied Sciences was rated the best when the youngsters were asked how willing they were to recommend the higher education institution to their friends. According to the survey, friends’ recommendations have a strong influence on the choice of higher education institution for about half of the respondents.
Taloustutkimus has conducted the image survey on universities of applied sciences every year since 2002. The target group for the survey are young Finns under 30 years old. This year the number of respondents was 2400.
