The TAMK BBA in International Business is an inspiring and multicultural learning environment where the students learn basic business skills and acquire attitudes essential for success in today’s international enterprise.

The first year of studies offers a broad perspective on business operations. The second year of studies brings a deeper insight into international companies. At this stage, students start to create their own career path by choosing a specialisation out of four options:

The Management Consulting specialisation option concentrates on real consultative projects with external clients.
The Supply Chain Management Module focuses on transportation and warehousing issues in connection with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
The Financial Management Module expands on business control, corporate finance, and management control systems.
The Marketing Module explores the dynamic environment of marketing strategy and planning.

In the third year students go abroad for a semester at one of TAMK's 300 partner universities worldwide. In addition, students spend a further 5 months abroad in a practical training placement. Ideally, the employer will also commission the Bachelor’s Thesis – a project requiring students to apply their knowledge to solving a specific problem for a company.

Employment opportunities

The programme prepares undergraduates for demanding jobs as e.g. sales, export, product, and customer relations assistants. Our graduates also work as marketing or logistics coordinators, and as consultants or entrepreneurs. Even entrylevel managerial positions are within the reach of our most successful graduates.

A Centre of excellence

Our business unit was chosen as one of the Centres of Excellence among Universities of Applied Sciences for 2010-2012 by the Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council. We constantly challenge and revise our learning methods and our lecturers have extensive business experience and international careers. Close cooperation with other institutions of higher education, global corporations and public agencies provide the students with unique real-world experiences.
