Remote access
The e-resources have been collected in the e-resource portal Nelli (National Electronic Library Interface). Some of the resources, including most library databases, are freely accessible.
Some of the material requires access right, and the TAMK library has obtained the licence for these programs. You have access to the licensed resources through the TAMK network computers. You need not log in, because the right of use is based on recognition of the IP address.
From outside TAMK you have access to the e-resources if you Log In to the e-resource portal Nelli. Select your Home Organization 'TAMK University of Applied Sciences'. Log in by using your TAMK user name and password.
When using MyNelli bookshelf, a customer has to be logged in, also at TAMK computers.
A notice of problems in the portal or MyNelli can be sent to kirjasto@tamk.fi.
Remote by Citrix
If there are some difficulties in the usual remote use of Nelli, you can also have a remote connection via Citrix at https://et.tamk.fi. If the computer you are using doesn’t have Citrix client installed, it is easy to upload on the same page. With the Citrix client installed, log in with your TAMK user ID and click the TAMK Library icon to get to the library home page. Within the shortcuts on the left side there is a link E-resources that takes you to the Nelli portal. Now you can use e-resources as if you were on a TAMK computer.
More Citrix information in Kompassi (only in Finnish).
Certificates
The new browsers (IE7 / Firefox 3 and newer) have a strict certificate policy, which means that
some of the e-resource links in Nelli Portal may not work properly until you visit http://ca.tpu.fi and download TAMK's security policies as trusted. Certificates 1, 2 and 3 need to be opened and identified as trusted.
A certificate can be obtained for individual pages, too. When getting a notice of a certificate, following choices are made in Mozilla Firefox browser:
> I Understand the Risks > Add Exception > Confirm security exception
and in Internet Explorer (IE) browser (bypass the certificate request):
> Continue to this website (not recommended)
